McCrea-Magee College, Londonderry City.

The public closing meeting of the session in connection with McCrea-Magee College, Londonderry, was held on Wednesday 14th April, 1920 when Professor J. R. Leebody, M.A., D.Sc., President of the Faculty, presided over a large gathering of students and friends of the college.

The Moderator of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland, the Right Rev. Dr. Simms, C.B., C.M.G., performed the unveiling ceremony. A handsome bronze tablet, set in carved oak, has been erected in the Examination Hall of the McCrea-Magee College, in memory of the following students who were killed in the war: –

Samuel McCullagh Linden, B.A., T.C.D., Second Lieutenant, Royal Garrison Artillery;

James F. D. McCay, Second Lieutenant, Royal Irish Rifles;

Hugh Alexander Small, M.C., Second Lieutenant, King’s Liverpool Regiment;

Rev. Alex. Stuart, Chaplin to the Forces;

Alexander Hunter Witherow, Second Lieut. Royal Irish Rifles;

John Thomas Whiterow, B.A., T.C.D., Second Lieutenant, Royal Irish Rifles.
