LEADBETTER STREET, Belfast.
This was a mural painting which was on a large blank wall at the Old Lodge Road end of Leadbetter Street, Oldpark Road, Belfast. Unfortunately, it no longer exists.
The following is a description of it written at the unveiling.
‘The subject of the painting is “Comrades of the Great War,” the central feature being a picture, in colours, of a badly wound soldier being rendered first aid by a Navy boy, while shells are bursting all around, and overhead is an enemy aeroplane, which been set in flames by British anti-aircraft guns. Above is a graceful draping, with an ornate arrangement of British flags, and beneath are painted in large distinctive letters to names of the men whose names are on the roll; -’
